What's Up Wednesday

Wednesday is here :D Are you going to join in Erin and Jaime's What's Up Wednesday? We'd love to have you!

What I'm Reading

Finished Point Blanc in no time at all. That's such a fun read. I do love the Alex Rider series.  Then I picked up Peter James' latest crime novel set in Brighton, Want You Dead, the title of which makes me think of this song from Portal 2.  It was definitely one of the more violent books of the series, and oooooh! So many cliffhangers, argh! Now I'm reading The Mission, the second Boy Nobody book.  I picked it up at YALC and so far, it's every bit as good as the first. They're great YA thrillers. Highly recommended.

What I'm Writing

...Okay fine, I've kinda started that rewrite... But only on paper!!!! I'm SO excited though, because at the end of August, I'm going to a workshop intended to make me crank out a ton of words. This rewrite will get done! It does, however, need a title... I'll get back to you on that next week.

What Else I'm Up To

Work :P But the spa day is tomorrow!!!! HOORAY!

Level of Excitement = Mariachi Band

What Inspires Me

We've had the most amazing weather in the UK lately and it's the kind of summer that demands cheery music you can dance along to!

Have a great week, everyone! :D

  1. Ooo, a spa day sounds like heaven! I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing time and feel refreshed and ready to tackle that rewrite afterward! As for the Alex Rider series, my son has the whole set sitting on his shelf, but I've never read any of them yet. Maybe someday! Have a super week, Cole! :)

  10. yay, glad you get to workshop. Hope you get some amazing feedback and that much needed inspiration to get back to it. Titles can be tricky, usually they come easy to me, but my last two novels it took forever, but never fear, it'll come to you!

    1. I'm soooo bad at titles. They're the last thing that come to me.

  11. Have fun with your spa day! It's been awhile since I've been to a spa. I was head over heels enough to get a couples massage as one of my Valentine's Day presents for my dysfunctional ex, and he actually upgraded his massage during the session, without even asking me, the one paying, if that were cool.

  12. A spa day does sound wonderful. Yay for good weather! Ours has been highly abnormal, but I can't bring myself to complain. I'd rather have a cool 70-degree summer than a blazing 90-degree one.

    1. Ours has been incredibly hot, which is so unusual. It means we've been getting the most amazing storms though, yay!

  13. Where has this hot weather come from? I still melt like a snowman from it but the weather has been gorgeous! We had a little break from the heat today but I want it back for a seaside trip.

Very jealous you're having a spa day. Never even had one!

  14. I live for nice weather! Not sure if I like the pop-y summer music that comes along with them, but I definitely love sunshine and heat. Spa days are nice too :)

Good luck with your writing! Hopefully you find a title soon.

  19. Portals! Jonathan Coulton! Good to see this stuff is "still alive" in the minds of the internet.
And nothing wrong with a paper rewrite, that's a very good step. Workshops sound like something I should look into as well.
Best of luck with it, and have a good week.

  20. Spa day....Yay! Definitely mariachi band worthy.

And I think it's funny that you are sneaking in on your rewrite. "Just on paper" sounds like "I never inhaled". Words have a way of making us break our own rules. ;)

    Have an amazing week!
