What I'm Reading

I finished reading Robin's Beast Inside :D It's been too long since I read some horror! Now I'm working my way through Sally Green's Half Bad.

What I'm Writng

40k, woo! Got to get these words out before July and August hit... Busy, busy, busy!

What Else I'm Up To

I managed to get to a preview screening of How To Train Your Dragon 2 on Sunday, rather than waiting for the UK's July release date. It is amazing. I saw it on IMAX 3D, which I highly recommend because the animation alone is gorgeous. Spoiler free review: it's the perfect continuation of the story.  I can't wait to see it again next month with my friends ^_^ Definitely my favourite film of 2014 so far. Yes, I loved it even more than The Winter Soldier.

Other than fangirling, I've been buying lots of tea for my weekly tea reviews :D Now I just need to pick one for next week's review... Hmmmmmm...

What Inspires Me

I can't share my favourite tracks from HTTYD2 due to their spoilerish nature... They belong to their moments in the film. So, for those of you who've seen it, you'll find my spoilerish favouites here and here.  These are probably my favourite moments from the film... Eh, but I'll probably have more favourites after I see it again ;)

For everyone else, you can't go wrong with the brilliant Dragon Racing, which combines the greatest tracks from the original OST and gives them a nice tweak ;)

I really cannot recommend the IMAX 3D experience enough... You know how I love hearing soundtracks, and the IMAX is as close to the amazingness of a live orchestra as I'm going to get anytime soon.

John Powell better win the Oscar in 2015 for best score...

Have a great week!

  7. Congrats on 40k! You're on a roll!
I'm excited to take the kids to HTTYD2 although I read an article recently that kind of dampened my enthusiasm for it a tiny bit. (It's about Strong Women Characters who are just there to be a Strong Women.) I kinda wish I hadn't read it although I'm going to be watching to see if I agree with what they said.

    1. I saw that article too, and while it did have a point, it didn't take away from any of my enjoyment of her character or the film as a whole. But the rest of my thoughts are *epic* spoilers, so I shan't share ;) I certainly hope you love it though! How can you not with Toothless in there being so gosh darn cute?

  8. Congratulations on your writing progress! 40K is a drop in the bucket by the standards of some of my books, but it's probably about halfway for a normal writer.

A tea review feature sounds fun. I haven't been over to Teavana in the longest time, though I love tea. I like to explain my love of tea and dislike of coffee by the fact that I have some British blood, even though that's such a small part of my overall background.

  18. It was such a good movie (though I don't know if I liked it more than Winter Soldier), and the animation was even more gorgeous than last time. And yes, the music was perfect. That's seriously how you should do a sequel. :) Also, I want a TOOTHLESS. LOVE HIM.

Good job with your writing, and thanks for your sweet comment. Roast pig, ftw!
