What's Up Wednesday

It's Wednesday, which means it's time to share what's up ;) Join in at Jaime and Erin's blogs.

What I'm Reading

Finished Mira Grant's Feed series.  The second book was definitely my favourite.  The trilogy is well worth reading.

What I'm Writing

...Soooo I gave in and wrote the opening of that SNI...

*cough*

I couldn't resist any longer! It just had to come out.

What Else I'm Up To

Misfit Wedding! It was an amazing day, complete with perfect weather :D

AAAAAAAAAAAAW!

Misfit Reunion!

Awesome Bus :D

Afternoon tea

Oh, and there was the small matter of the Arrow season finale...

  2. That wedding dress is amazing... Love the sense of style I'm seeing in those photos! I've heard that ARROW is amazing, and I'm trying to wait patiently for my husband to return from his deployment so we can watch it together. We'll see if I can hold out. :-) Have a great week, lady!

    1. Nah, give in! Watch it now and then when he returns you can enjoy a rewatch ;)

Thanks! My friend has very good taste, so we all looked great ^_^

  3. Glad you had a great time at the wedding! I love that feeling when you just have to write down the opening of a new SNI. :D

    1. The SNI just got the better of me, but I will go back to Dream!Story when the time is right.

  4. I haven't seen the ARROW season finale yet because my husband is out of town for a few weeks. I'm so worried I'm going to get spoiled! I should just watch it and not tell him lol.

Those wedding photos are wonderful. I love the bride's dress! Have fun with the SNI. I think sometimes you have to get the ideas down while they're in your head. If you didn't write the opening, you might have forgotten what you wanted to write. Right? Right??? (Look, I'm enabling you. ;-) )

Oh, enable away! It's already too late ;)

  5. Awww... lovely wedding! :)

I'm on the verge of starting a new project too... I just need to decide which one! I'm not one to launch into an SNI without an idea of where it's going--which is why I'm only a sort-of pantser. I hate not finishing something I've started, and the best way for me to risk not finishing is to start without a goal. Even if the ending changes as the story progresses, I need to have a finish line.

Have a great week, Cole! :)

    1. I don't like not finishing, but sometimes you gotta go where inspiration takes you. You can always return to the old idea later.

  6. I'm glad to hear the trilogy as a whole is good - I'm aiming to pick up a copy of Deadline this weekend, because since finishing Feed I haven't been able to get the story out of my head.

Good luck with that SNI! ;) If you had to write it then you had to write, there's no point in letting it grow stale and unwritten.

Aw, what a lovely wedding! Have a great week! :)

    1. It's good, isn't it? Deadline is my favourite in the series for sure :D Enjoy!

You're right - I couldn't let it go stale, hence the writing!

  7. Sometimes you have to give in to the SNI, but don't get too distracted ;) I just started watching Arrow last week on netflix but I have to wait months before season two.

    1. Isn't it AWESOME?! :D

The good thing about the story I left is it's pretty close to the end of a first draft, so I don't feel quite so bad about temporarily abandoning it.

  8. OK I need to know what an SNI is. It's driving me crazy!

  10. Augh, that Arrow moment. It killed me! Otherwise, I felt the season finale a bit underwhelming. It was good... but not great.
    Love the brides shoes!

  11. Is it bad that I've never heard of/seen Arrow?
And I'm with the others--loved the bride's shoes! It's fun to see people's personalities come through like that. :)

  13. Have to go with the inspiration, I guess! It really is great that you couldn't shake this new idea of yours. Those are lovely wedding pics and that afternoon tea looks amazing! I'm mourning the end of Arrow's season too. What am I supposed to do without Oliver and Diggle and Felicity all summer? :)

Personally, I'm coping by rewatching season 1 of Arrow :P

  14. What a gorgeous wedding - that dress! *drools* I'm yet to watch Arrow, but I've heard nothing but good things, so you've got me excited to investigate ;)

Here's hoping the SNI works out for you, I'm sending all the muse-y, inspiration vibes I can from Down Under! Make sure to report back and tell us all how's it's going so far, I'm intrigued!

  18. Love your dress and shoes!!! Super cute!!! Looks like it was a great day. I started watching Aaron. Wish I could have got into it. It just didn't hook me. Maybe one day I'll give it another try.

  19. I looooove the pictures. Everyone looks so happy and adorable. Are there close-ups of the bride's shoes? What a fun little detail. Also, your hair is on point! :)

Re: ARROW - omggggggg. No, Oliver, I don't understand. I STILL don't understand! D: I'm suffering from withdrawal. I guess that's what happens when you binge-watch 2 seasons.

Arrow is well worth marathoning. I feel your pain. Just... just... NOW KISS! Aaaaaaaaaaaargh! Ohmigosh I literally shrieked at the moment in his house. AND THEN THE TWIST NOOOO! Such a perfect finale.

  20. So I can't even LOOK at that Arrow gif because I haven't started season two. I heart Felicity Smoake SO so much, and if she doesn't become the new leading lady/love interest ... then EPIC SADNESS will occur. I love her character and get all swoony at the idea of her w/the Green Arrow. *sigh* Hear, hear for nerdy girls getting the heroes!

The wedding photos are great - looks like a super fun event! And best of luck with your SNI. :) Have a great week!

  21. SNIs are so hard to resist, so why should we? Our WIP will always be waiting for us.

That looks like a great wedding. I love all the dresses and I'm definitely smitten with the bride's shoes.

Every time I visit your blog I just have to admire it. I always love the design. And it even has a soundtrack! XD
