What's Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday, everyone :D Stop by Jaime and Erin's blogs and join in the fun.

What I'm Reading

Let's see, what have I read? Finished Asylum, which felt a bit undercooked.  I liked the photos and the setting plenty, but I felt it desperately needed more character development.  Then I read Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn.  That was so heavy and dark.  Ooooh so dark.  And really, really good.  Finished it all off with a YA Sci-Fi, Where The Rock Splits The Sky which, again, had cool settings and an intriguing concept, but needed a wee bit more character development for my personal tastes.

I'm now up to 30 books for 2014 :D

What I'm Writing

Looks like I'll be finishing the month on 33k for Camp NaNo, which is 13k over my goal :)

What Else I'm Up To

Being ill ^^; What started as a rather nasty headache has turned into sinusitis.

But it was my lovely friend Emily's hen weekend.  We decorated cupcakes and had an amazing brunch at an art deco tea room, among many other things :)

What Inspires Me

Lindsey Stirling has a great new album out!

Yay ^_^

Have a great week everyone!

    1. The cupcakes were delicious for sure. The ones pictured were designed by my friend who is a far better artist than I.

Sharp Objects is well worth a read. You might want to read something rather jolly afterwards though :P

I have to take breaks between Gillian Flynn's books. There's only so much darkness I can take before I need something a wee bit more uplifting.

  14. Great job exceeding your Camp NaNo goal! And yes, Sharp Objects is SO twisted and disturbing but still so good. I don't know how Flynn does it!

Love your tea and cupcake pictures. Your cupcake decorating is amazing. Those look straight up professional. Mine would just be covered in sprinkles. Covered.

  24. Cupcakes = awesome.
Sinuses = Boo. I had a bit of that myself, last week. The first really, truly nice days of spring I spent stuffed up and dizzy. Stupid pollen.
But at least there were cupcakes!
