Wednesday! What's Up?!

Join in with Jaime and Erin's fantabulous What's Up Wednesday :D

What I'm Reading

It took me most of the week to work my way through Clear and Present Danger. It was a real slog.  Definitely not one of the better books in the series. There was a lot of technical stuff to get through in order to reach the good bits.  Normally the details didn't bother me, but this time? I dunno. This book just didn't work as well as the others.  Maybe it was the lack of the KGB :p Thankfully, the bits that were good were really good.  Rather annoyingly, the next book, Sum Of All Fears, is out of print... Time to find a used copy!

Anyway, I'm just finishing up a final read through of Colony because...

What I'm Writing

...If all goes to plan, the first batch of queries go out tomorrow!

Also, good luck to all of you taking part in Writer's Recharge :D Sounds like a great idea ^_^

What Else I'm Up To

Oooh... this:

Dungeons and Dragons led to this AWESOME pair of photos XD

And this:

I rearranged it a bit and turned the bottom tray into my TBR pile. Now it's like a library cart!

What Inspires Me

Been listening to the How To Train Your Dragon OST and it is just so darn awesome. I had a lot of trouble picking just one track ^^;  Must. Find. Sheet. Music:

Have a wonderful week everyone! :D

    1. Wouldn't it be funny if every week another blogger posts a picture of the same cart? I'm tempted to get one but I literally have zero space to put it.

  3. Ooo what a good idea for the trolley! I need more space!!!

D&D is so much fun! Pete's sister is going us for the weekend and we want to make the time to place a game. If not, then definitely at her geek themed party in May!

It was fun, although our game led to hysterical outbreaks of laughter and epic photo shoots!

  4. Congrats on entering the Query Trenches! (may the force be with you...oh wait that's Star Wars not D&D) (Still totally applicable) ;)

Love the Writing/Library trolley cart. I fell in love with Jamie's cart too! What a great way to get inspired to write.

Hope your week is gorgeous and full of amazing! :)

  5. Yay! A picture of the cart!! :) All the best with querying, Cole. I've been there once, and I'll hopefully be there again soon. It's the best of times and the worst of times. But we'll be rooting for you. :)

    1. This is my second go and so far, I'm finding it easier to manage my expectations. Of course, I'm only an hour in soooooo... :p

      Thanks, Colin!

  6. So you pressed through Clear and Present Danger, huh? Interesting how some books by the same author can vary so much. I think my ability to stick with a book is lessening the more I read. I'm currently having a really hard time with Jane Austen's Persuasion and want to ditch it so bad. I'm sticking with it because it's a classic. If it were a newer book, I'd have ditched it by now (at page 50).

BTW, I really like the blog design with those little mittens! Love it.

    1. It was strange because I've loved all of Tom Clancy's other books. This one just didn't quite hit the right spot.

Wow, Austen. I really admire you for trying ^^

Aw, I know, it's cute! Got it from Hot Biggity Blog ^_^ I like to change with the seasons.

  18. I love the HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON soundtrack! I thought it was amazing for any movie let alone a cartoon. And I love Toothless. Most adorable dragon ever. Great idea making your writing cart do double duty as a library cart! Crossing my fingers that you get a good response from those queries! :)
