What's Up Wednesday!

It's that wonderful time of the week. What's Up Wednesday is Erin and Jaime's awesome bloghop. Stop by their blogs and join in!

Again, I might miss out on a few of you today, but I'll do my best to make up for it next week ^_^

What I'm Reading

Still working my way through my Charlie Brooker books, but I picked up S J Kincaid's Vortex. I quite enjoyed Insignia so I'm looking forward to seeing where the series goes next.

What I'm Writing

RainyCity!Story can be summed up in one single way: Suddenly, steam trains! My lovely friend Laura just returned Space!Story to me too. I'm not quite ready to head back into edits yet... In fact it might have to wait until work slows down again...

What Else I'm Up To

Went for brunch with friends on Sunday, oh so close to a complete Misfit Reunion.  Long story short - we called ourselves the Misfits at Sixth Form because we didn't belong anywhere else and came together into a beautiful friendship.

Oh and one other thing: I BOOKED TICKETS TO HEAR THE MUSIC FROM STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL! Yeah, next May I'm going to be spending two days in London, one for a live Star Trek concert and one for the Into Darkness concert. I AM SO EXCITED! To hear those soundtracks performed live is going to be so absolutely wonderful! I will shed many tears.

What Inspires Me

So, to recap you can now listen to my top five film tracks and my top five animation tracks.

This week?

Will I cover your favourite TV show? Stop by Friday and have a listen!

    1. Steam trains are one of my favourite things, but I still didn't expect them to turn up in this story of all things. Aaaah, the life of a pantser!

  2. I am ashamed to say that I still have INSIGNIA sitting on my bookshelf. I met Molly O'Neil at a conference and she raved about it, but...I just need to read it. SOON.

Steam trains sounds like an awesome add! Baseball and dance numbers are about as exciting as things get in my story. :)

I hope you have a wonderfully productive week!

  4. I have to laugh at steam trains, because my husband LOVES steam engines. I have a whole backyard full of piles of rusty metal, including a steam powered tractor. He keeps telling me that I need to write a book about steam and that his crazy collection is just research for my book :)

  5. There is nothing like listening to a live orchestra. No CD, surround sound, digital whatever can compare to a large room full of skilled musicians making music. Next May seems a long time away, but I know it'll be so worth the wait. :)

  7. Suddenly Steam trains sounds so intriguing! Paired with Rainy day story I'm getting all noir type images in my head - men in trench costs and ladies with red, red lips.

I love that you called yourself the Misfits. It made the theme song of Jem pop into my head. It was a 90's cartoon.

The concert looks brilliant. I hope you have an excellent time.

Good luck with your writing this week.

    1. I have to admit I've been very inspired by Blade Runner, so sci-fi noir might suit it nicely.

      Have a great week yourself!

  9. Your concert tickets sound wonderful! The Seattle Symphony did something similar here - they also did all the music to Star Wars, which I would've loved to have heard. I hope you have a fantastic time - and I also hope work settles down for a bit, so you can breathe. :)

    1. I'd love to go to a Star Wars concert too, but I think my Star Trek fangirl is the one shouting louder these days ;)

Work won't really settle down until mid-August, but I still have next week off ^_^ yaaaaay!
