Sunday Inspiration - Summer

Summer is finally, finally here.  You can always tell, living in Brighton, because suddenly you're surrounded by lost Londoners :P

What are your favourite memories of summer? Time with friends? Time with family? Freedom from school? Just enjoying the warmth and sunlight? There's something so wonderful about this time of year, and not just because our 2 months of rain have finally come to an end ;)

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

  1. I love all of the summer sounds and smells: the breeze through the trees, the birds (yes, even the obnoxious crows), the smell of BBQs, the scent of sunshine on your skin. :D Love it! Though, I kind of have a thing for autumn... I'll sing its praises when it rolls around. For now, I'll just enjoy summer.

  2. I'm not a huge fan of summer--especially here where it's just too darned hot. But I have some fond memories of summer back in England. Like staying up all night watching the LA Olympics live (1984), or going into town and hanging out with friends, or just sitting in my bedroom with the window open reading, or listening to (or more likely playing along with) music. Another vivid memory I have is revising for my end of year exams my first year at Hull, sitting at my desk in front of the upstairs bay window of our student house, bright sunlight coming in, red and blue double decker buses trundling past underneath, pouring over lecture notes and library books. Good times! :D

  3. FREEDOM FROM SCHOOL. Yessss. <3

Though for a long time, that has only meant that I write non-stop! I can't help but work myself to death. ;)

  4. Isn't this weather lovely by the way? We break up from school and we get heat! If I had a garden I'd be soaking in the sun by now.

Summer has always meant projects for me. Writing, house jobs, university preparation. Once I get a car I hope it'll mean travelling as well and seeing more places but for now it's always about projects. And BBQs. As soon as the weather gets slightly warmer everyone always mentions BBQs. :D
