Going Out to Write

Here's the reasons why I like to go out to write:
  1. No Internet, no DVDs, no distractions.
  2. Getting out of the house specifically to write motivates me.
  3. Walking around town with my iPod lets me think about plot issues and solve them.
  4. Tea or Hot Chocolate made by someone else tastes really nice :P
  5. The library is very peaceful and being surrounded by other people's books is very inspirational!
Tea!

Sometimes, no matter how good my intentions are, there's so much to do at home I have to get away so I can get some writing done.

How about you? Do you like to write out and about?

  1. I haven't tried writing outside my home, but I don't think I'd get anything done. I used to try to do homework in university while in cafes and that was always a bust. I'm better working in my office, but unfortunately that means distractions like Twitter, Blogger, and just the web in general.

    1. The web is wonderful, but it can be such a huge distraction. It's why I like to get out ^_^

  3. I write wherever I can, whenever I can. In the summer, I love writing outside, sprawled on a blanket in the park with my laptop. I also do a lot of writing at the local coffee shop.

  4. I tried going to the library once, but it turns out that's where the mentally unstable go for the free air conditioning. Accidentally made eye contact and suddenly you're hearing all about how the government is using the Pay TV satellite to spy on them.

I like to take a notebook to the beach!

  6. I do love getting out to write! But sadly, I have yet to find a place without free wifi. WHY IS THAT? And if it's there, I will connect. I can't help myself. But the one thing that usually holds me back from leaving to write is my writing desk. See, I have a disk in my lumbar spine that likes to bulge (silly thing) and sitting down at all is not so great for it, but especially sitting in normal-height chairs. Taller, counter-height chairs though are much nicer on my back. And that's what my writing desk is. So, I have a hard time leaving that luxury.
AND YES, hot chocolate made by someone else always tastes better!
