Closer...

Closing in on my finished manuscript! I finished my big picture edit last night.  Got a few additions to make and then it's one more print out, LOTS of different coloured pens and off to the beta readers.

I'm aiming for a Monday print out ^_^

Here's my workspace this weekend:

...Maybe I should change my update schedule to "eh, whenever I please" :P

  2. Perhaps this is a silly question (they tell me there's no such thing...), but why the different colored pens? I'm about to give my story to 2 readers and am interested in how authors preface the read-through process. Do you give multiple colored pens to each reader? Are you giving them a series of questions or things to look for?

Sorry for all the questions, but this is all so new to me!

  3. TL Conway: No worries! To be honest, it's a habit that goes back to school. I like to use different colours to make different types of notations so everything stands out better. So, red is for deletions, black is for notes-to-self, green for grammar issues and blue is for additions.

Basically, I like lots of colours ;)

As for giving it to betas, my main concern is plot issues and where things lag or straight up suck. I tend to be quite blind to my own plotholes.

  6. Ah, no. BUT IT WILL BE WHEN THERE IS INK!

And yes, I shall be reprinting on the back of the old version ;)
